Groupon - Urban OPI Nail Salon, Bangsar Baru

My intention to buy this voucher is actually to use it before Chinese New Year, unfortunately the schedule is packed, hence I unable to redeem my voucher on that day. (Lesson: Must call up to ensure there's available slot before purchasing the voucher)
Since I have a 10-days year-end holiday, so I took this opportunity to use this voucher before it expired (the voucher only valid on weekdays)
Hence, today I use this voucher. Firstly, let me tell you what is stated on the Groupon deal page, so you have an understanding of what this deal is about:

Classic Mani-Pedi + Foot Soak + Foot Scrub + Hand and Foot Massage at Urban OPI Nail Salon, Bangsar for RM39 instead of RM106
 Highlights
  • Choose from over 300 designer OPI colours.
  • Complimentary green tea, coffee or tea.
  • Therapists with more than 8 years’ experience.
  • Top up RM7 for French manicure or pedicure and RM6 for eyebrow or upper lip and lower lip waxing.
Before the invention of automobile horns, fingernails were colour coded to warn oncoming traffic – red to stop, green to go and blue to watch out for wandering herds of depressed mountain meese.  Stick a finger to the past with today’s Groupon: for RM39, you get a one-hour manicure (RM38 value), pedicure (RM48 value) foot soak, foot scrub, plus hand and foot massage (RM20 value) at Urban OPI Nail Salon in Bangsar Baru (RM106 total value).Parched throats are irrigated with infusions of coffee or tea while further downtown, pedal pushers erase memories of six inched stiletto sufferings, assuaged by trained therapists with scrubs and callus removing soaks. As owners contemplate colour choices from over 300 OPI options, Plain Jane digits are kneaded to relieve cramps from vigorous V-signs at weekly sorority sister photo-ops. Top up RM7 for French manicures or pedicures or RM6 for either an eyebrow or upper and lower lip waxing to prevent mistaken identities with pet walruses.
So I was there about 15 minutes early so I get to do my mani and pedi first. The salon is small; it conjoined with a hair salon, without any partitions. It consists of 3 tables for manicures and 4 armchairs and basins for pedicures.
I went to choose my nail polish, whilst the Indian lady went to continue with her threading work with a customer. After choosing my color, I have to wait for another 5 minutes whilst the Indian lady answered her phone call.
Then, finally she work on my manicure and pedicure. To summarize my experience, kindly view below:

1.    On the Deal page, Groupon stated:
  •  Choose from over 300 designer OPI colours. --- I think I can only see about 100+ OPI colors on display; a lie.
  •  Complimentary green tea, coffee or tea. --- NO one offered drinks; so this is another lie.
  •  Therapists with more than 8 years’ experience.--- Seriously??? Doesn't look like it...
2.   The Indian lady mentioned that the Groupon voucher is just EXPRESS manicure and pedicure, hence NO cuticle shaping or remover, massage, etc. She claimed that Groupon did not state Express on the voucher.
3.  NO hand massage.
4.    NO foot massage (the lady just slapped lotion and rub on my leg. PERIOD).
5.    NO foot soak.
6.    Foot scrub – The lady just slapped some scrub, use a brush and scrubbed like 2-3 seconds and rinsed off.
7.    NO foot callus removing.
8.    Due to the so-called lack of staffs and fully-booked schedule, the lady said my toenails are allowed to dry for 2 minutes then I must go. However, I stayed for, like, 8 minutes then she ‘politely’ said “Excuse Me”, removed the foam toe separators from my toes and went to continue her job with another customer. No “Thank You” or checked if the nail polish is completely dry. Nothing. Probably because I’m a Groupon customer.

The outrageous part is, the Indian lady got the cheek to warn me not to buy from Groupon or other discounted website as sometimes they promote things that cause some ‘misunderstandings'’ to the customers. I was utterly shocked when I heard this. I starting to wonder whether THEY approached Groupon or Groupon approached them to come up with this deal. I believe it should be the former, but I was speechless.
All I can say is, based on my above experience, trust me on this, there will be NO MORE second visit to this fraud salon. With the way they handle the customers and their non-committal attitude towards their work, I'm not sure how long they can survive in this industry.

My Favorite Online Store - Doublewoots.com

I always very afraid to buy apparels online, for fear of the sizes and if it's gonna look good on me. But after I came back from Bangkok, most of the clothes I bought in Platinum Mall and Chatuchat Market, Bangkok, I'm not allowed to try and they're all free size but yet, I still buy anyway. Thankfully, all the clothes I bought, all fit me perfectly and the design looks good on me. So I thought, "why not buy online? As long as they are free size and I'm on average size they should fit me no problem. If I can risk it in Bangkok, so why not online?"
So I have browsed through a few online boutiques and I came across Doublewoots.com (http://www.double-woot.com/). I like all their clothes and their price are reasonable as well. They mostly sells dresses, which I really love wearing as I'm very lazy to mix-and-match ;). And there are 2 items that really caught my attention; 1 is a red halter-neck cheongsam and 1 is a red, laced mandarin-collared top (both are free size). I have always wanted to wear cheongsam and I am delighted to actually found it. Once again, I read through their terms and conditions, shipping info, payment info, etc before I proceed with my purchase. Once I have checked everything, I made my first purchase with this store. I was really nervous, honestly, as I prayed that I'm able to fit on the 2 items that I have just bought.
2 days later, I received my items and I immediately checked for any defects before I try it on. What a sigh of relief, I'm able to fit on both of them and they fit my perfectly (well, perhaps except for the cheongsam, it was a tiny bit loose, but well, loose is better than tight, right?)
I'm happy with my purchase and I receive good feedback from my relatives and friends when I visited them during Chinese New Year. So yeah, with the price and the efficiency as well as reliability, definitely worth to recommend to you guys to give them a shot. I will surely return again to buy more dresses.

MAS Airlines - Kuala Lumpur > Bangkok > Kuala Lumpur

It's been years since I last ride in MAS Airlines. I literally forgot how it was like and what they have provide. I have patronizing AirAsia airlines, that's why.
Anyway, it is really a good change and an enjoyable ride. The food served is delicious. On my flight to Bangkok, I was served fried rice with chicken satay.

And also Magnum ice cream for dessert! So cool. I hadn't eaten Magnum ice cream for ages!!!
They also have a small TV, with nice movies. And we're provided with earphones, too. I get to watch Marley and Me but only three-quarter of the show, because we're about to land and the steward came to claim back the earphones :(

However, when we're on the flight back to Kuala Lumpur, there's no TV, so I read The Star newspaper provided by the airline and read throughout my journey back home. And the food is, again, good. Green curry chicken rice. But this time no dessert :(

The whole experience has been good and smooth so far :)

The AETAS Bangkok Hotel

This is a nice and modern-looking hotel with friendly and helpful staffs. I think the hotel is about 1 or 2 years old, so naturally, the amenities and equipments are still quite new. There's a BTS station called Ploen Chit station, which is about 5-8 minutes walk from the hotel (depends on your walking pace), but the hotel do provide a shuttle service from the hotel to the BTS station at certain times, so you need to inquire with the concierge staff.
However, should you wish to take a taxi to some place (my family and I went to the shopping area like Platinum Mall, Terminal 21, etc), the concierge staff will instruct the guard to wave down a taxi from the road and then inform the driver to where we wish to go and we just hop in. Very convenient. No need to walk to the main road to catch a taxi ourselves.
As for the hotel room, I'm staying in the Superior Room. Very nice and spacious, and most importantly clean and cosy. The bathroom is spacious as well, with a separate bathtub and shower, the shower is equipped with a rain shower, which is really lovely and the water is strong, too, which is a plus. And there's a built-in speaker in the bathroom, too, which is just perfect as I can enjoy some music while I'm showering ;) I like well-lit rooms, and this has really met my expectation. Internet service is fast, too. And the buffet breakfast is good as well, though I've been eating the same thing during my 4 days stay, I wish there's some variety.
Overall, I can't think of any complaints during my stay here. Everything seems to be working out fine and my whole family really enjoys our stay here. Definitely will stay here again next time :)

My First Favorite Online Store - MrLens.com

I am a bit sceptical about this online purchase thing-y, but I know I need to go along with the trend. So my first purchase, is buying contact lens. I usually buy my supplies at Focus Point, but there are times where I'm so busy with my work that I totally forgot to stock up and this frustrates me a lot.
So as I was Google-ing up for contact lens promotions, a website has caught my attention. It is called MrLens (http://www.mrlens.com.my/en/). I browsed through and to my utter delight, they have the brand that I'm using and it cost slightly cheaper (well, if I'm gonna add up with the petrol and parking fee, the price they offered is really much cheaper). And most importantly, shipping is FREE within Klang Valley (only applicable for purchase more than RM50. Hell, my contact lens cost more than that and I usually buy 2-3 boxes, just in case :-P). Awesome! I read thoroughly all their terms and conditions, shipping info, etc and I thought, "why not?" Everything has their first times.
Hence, I immediately sign up a new account and select my items. Then I select the address that I prefer to receive the item (I usually prefer it to send to my office as I'll be there more often than I am at home) and select my payment method. They accept credit card and debit card either Visa or Mastercard and MEPS FPX and Online Bank Transfer either M2U or Hong Leong Bank. I usually go for M2U, I felt its a bit more safer and easier. And I'm done.
It said it will take one day to process (provided if you place your order on working days and not during weekend, if you place your order during weekend or public holiday, they will only process on working day) and deliver the items within 24 hours.
So I have placed my order and paid for it on Monday and I receive a confirmation email on the same day, and tomorrow, I got my items! Perfect! And it was delivered by MrLen's delivery guy. So efficient and reliable. Totally will continue to purchase from MrLens again, once I finish my supply, which will probably gonna take 6 months :P
Definitely must recommend to those contact lens users if you want an easy and fast way to replenish your contact lens.

Decléor Paris - Still No Answer

I'm really tired of waiting. But it seems they are enjoying wasting the customers time and create more distress and inconvenience to the customers. I hate it when they already get the money and once problems arise, they just cross their arms and ignore the customers.
My email to Ms. Wey Wei is still left unanswered. No calls from Decléor Paris till today. I really starting to doubt if their business is legitimate. What if next time they decided to close down the business, then my money vanished into thin airs?! God, this is making me mentally distressed.
I think I will file a report to the Consumer Tribunal. If I still don't hear from them this week. This whole thing is making me stress, anxious and fed up. I really wanna put an end to this. I don't want to incur more stress into my already stressful life.
