Sadly, it is 1 bad move. I should I do a thorough research on that area, i.e. the parking rate, the layout of the parking area, etc. When I did my interview there, my mum fetched me to Publika then she returned to pick me up 2 hours later, so I did not really survey the parking area and asked about the parking rate.
So when I really got to the parking, I manage to park right below my office block. I just took the elevator and go straight up to my office. Upon entering, I glanced at the parking rate board and I did a mental calculations. Below are the parking rate in Publika:
Mon - Fri: Entry between 7AM - 5:59PM > RM1 for first 3 hours
> RM2 for subsequent hour(s)
Entry between 6PM - 6:59AM > RM1 per entry
Sat, Sun &
Public Holiday: Entry between 7AM - 6:59AM (Next day) > RM1 per entry
So imagine my shock when I paid my parking ticket. I end up paying RM16 on that first day! Another mental calculation, if I'm gonna work there for 26 days, I have to fork out RM416.
The next day, I went to the Car Park Management Office to inquire on the season parking. They told me I can get a season pass for RM160 for random parking and RM280 for tenant or reserve parking. So I wanted to apply for the RM160 random parking pass, and to my disappointment, I was told that my office unit only entitle to 2 pass. Hence, I have been put on the waiting list, and the guy sadly told me it's a very long list.
My heart really sank. How am I suppose to survive working in Solaris Dutamas where all the food here are damn freaking expensive (unless I eat bread or I Love Yoo porridge everyday, which cost about RM4 something)? And sadly, my office doesn't have a pantry, that means no microwave, no utensils, no cutleries, etc, so I can't bring food from home or buy food from outside.
This is really a wrong, wrong move for me. And I'm beginning to regret it...
Hi,
ReplyDeleteTry paying it before you hit 3 hours, and take back the card, and pay it again within the next 3 hours.
U mean I have to drive my car out and return to the car park? I don't want to go thru dat, as it's really difficult to find a good parking spot :(
DeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteFor your information you don't need to drive your car out from the parking lot, you just need to carry along your ticket to the machine an pay for it in every 3 hour :))
hi...You mean put in the autopay machin and pay Rml before 3 hours dateline.then take back tgat same ticket hold on to it.then the next 3rd hour go back to the autopay machine n do the same thing?
ReplyDeleteOLivia, so how do you solve this problem at last?i gonna work in publika on this friday onwards..
ReplyDeletehi quan, now publika parking have max parking rate, it's rm10 per day, dun park at premium parking.
Deletehey i actually have quite a few parking lots but its in regency hartamas like 5 minute walk from publika, does your company want to rent them ? or anyone's company who has parking problems wants to rent them? email me. tzunleon_2@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteHey, you know the parking lots by the roadside along "The square" and the shop lots.. can we park there? Say if I find a spot.
ReplyDeleteThose are normally valet parking. If not mistaken, 2 hour = RM15. Seriously, I rather parked inside the basement :P
DeleteMay I know how to register the season parking?
ReplyDeleteU have to go to d car park office. U can ask d info counter where is it. I know it's in basement but I forgot which block n which floor. The admin there will give u a form to complete n they will put u on a waiting list (which is actually very long). N it depends on d size of unit. I know for my company, we took 2 units, so each unit r entitle for 2 season pass. The admin have a list of office units, so u can tell them ur office name, block n unit number then they will tell u if u entitle for season pass. Hope this helps. Good luck :)
DeleteIm facing the same problem with u as am staying there.in the waiting list for 2 years already. They said no space.but everyday I park there.rm10 a day.on weekend,if I go out on sunday I pay rm22.if I go out on Monday,I paid rm50.ridiculous right?how I wish I could complain.
ReplyDeleteSave ur breath. Ur complaints will fall into deaf ears... 1 of d reason my ex-colleagues resigned is because of d exorbitant 'lifestyle' in Publika. She literally eats breads n salads almost everyday because she cannot afford to eat there as d eateries there are oso expensive. So to add with the parking, she literally have no take-home pay. Poor thing...
